OUR INSTRUCTORS
Kurt
Hello, I am Kurt Barbieri I first skied at age 6 while living in Japan, then a bit more when in Connecticut. After a stint in Hawaii, I resumed skiing with a vengeance in Lake Tahoe, eventually teaching at Squaw Valley, where in addition to teaching I was a part-time supervisor in the ski school. I have taught skiing for 11 years and am a Technical Director, PSIA Level III certified in alpine and Level I in snowboard.
I'm happiest skiing off the groomed runs, ducking in and out of trees, slicing through the crud, floating in the powder, and enjoying the thrill of the steeps - the steeper the better. Did you know Schweitzer has a run with a 50 degree pitch? I found it and can teach you to ski it!
Skiing is about many things, and different things to different people. To me, first and foremost, it's about fun, adventure, and freedom. There is nothing quite like the thrill of sliding down the snow, mastering the skis to your will and effortlessly flowing with the mountain. The more we develop, the better the flow and comfort on steeper terrain and in different snow conditions, and the greater the fun. Come join me - together we'll develop that flow and experience the thrill.
