OUR INSTRUCTORS
Mark
Hi, I am Mark Logan,
I first started teaching Snowboarding in 1998 while stationed at Misawa Air Base in Northern Japan with the U.S. Air Force. I received my level I and II snowboard certifications through the Amateur Ski Instructors Association, a PSIA member school set-up to teach on a non-profit basis. I taught my fellow military members and their families through the Base’s Outdoor Recreation Program at local ski areas. While in Japan I received avalanche and backcountry travel training from the Canadian Avalanche Association.
In 2001 I was transferred to Heidelberg Germany where I deviated from teaching and perused certification as a Patroller for the European Division of the U.S. National Ski Patrol. Once becoming a Patroller I obtained certifications in Mountain Travel and Rescue and Avalanche Level I. After retiring from the Air Force to Bonners Ferry Idaho I worked as a backcountry guide and Patroller. In 2006 I joined the snow sports instructor staff at Schweitzer Mountain Resort. I have skied and snowboarded throughout Northern Japan, Europe and the Western United States and enjoy sharing my love for snow sports with others.
