Leapers are turns made with the skis lifted into the air, taking off at the end of one turn and landing in the beginning of the next. Transition occurs while airborne. This is done by rapidly extending the legs to jump off of the snow allowing the skis to turn in the new direction while in the air. Land in a relaxed position on the new set of edges, flexing the legs to absorb the pressure and steer the skis to shape the new turn. This is a valuable drill which demands active flexion and extension and a centered stance.
