I would like to express my gratitude for coping with my timid and slow learning--it would frustrate any other instructor. So, let me thank you for your patience and encouragement, your quiet way of challenging my hesitancies and for making the year a positive one in my record book. I especially remember when we had the three hours of one on one--it was a highpoint of my year---and the successful negotiation of Upper Kaniksu will be my best sense of accomplishment. My personal experience with the "Nice Turns" group was outstanding. On a scale of 1-10, I'd rate the instruction with a 12+. The personal attention and drills, combined with superior instructor knowledge, changed my skiing forever. I can ski runs I never dreamed of trying before the class, and, most importantly, I now have the confidence and skill to ski challenging terrain. Thanks, Ursula. You are the Best!!......Theresa Z
As a middle age, casual skier, I was content with being "average." But a powder bonanza on Gladiator this year, prompted my teenage son to give me some brilliant advice. "Mom, why don't you take some ski lessons and learn how to really handle this stuff?"
He jolted me into another way of thinking about my remaining years of skiing. I could continue my casual approach, continue to struggle with terrain and conditions. Or, I could become a better skier.
I enrolled in Nice Turns that weekend. I needed the continued lessons every week to help me begin to change a lifetime of skiing habits. Expert advice, a group of great learners, good lunch time conversations, fun on the mountain ... and continued reminders of how to become a better skier.
It takes time. But I can't think of a better way to learn. I'll be back next year!...Nancy C.
I have been skiing for many years, and the only improvement in my ability came from technology in equipment. Then I signed up for the 'Nice Turns' ski program, and much to my delight, found that my ability improved almost from the first lesson, and continued to improve throughout the program. I am now skiing better in all kinds of conditions, and on steeper terrain than before. Gary and Ursula are excellent and understanding teachers. We are looking forward eagerly to resuming our lessons with them next season....... Craig T.
Nice Turns Ski Program succeeded in taking me from a beginner skier to advanced intermediate in one ski season. It was a challenging and enjoyable program, where you meet interesting people and get positive results. Thanks so much for introducing me to Nice Turns. I thought that I had reached a point where I couldn't get any better. I would be doomed to be a "lower intermediate" skier forever! But, after one season in Nice Turns I have learned to take advantage of my new shaped skis as well as how to apply the techniques you have taught me. The end result is I am a better skier with a lot more confidence....... Gary D.
I participated in the Nice Turns ski lessons this year for the first time. I am a retired 57-year-old and I had been trying to teach myself to ski for the last couple of years with very limited success. Going into the Nice Turns program I would have classified myself as an advanced beginner to possibly a beginning intermediate skier.
When I began the Nice Turns program, I found many of the blue runs to be challenging, if not intimidating, and I had never attempted black runs. After one season in the program, I feel that I have made great improvement. I now ski all blue runs with confidence and most of the black runs as well. I've learned how to maintain control, carving my turns as opposed to skidding them, and I've also greatly advanced my ability to ski in different types of snow conditions. The instruction has been not only excellent and informative, but also a lot of fun. I would recommend the program to anyone who wants to advance their skiing skills while having fun on the mountain....... Rick M.
